JONATHAN POLLARD
Jonathan Jay Pollard (born August 7, 1954) a former American intelligence analyst jailed for spying for Israel.
1984, Jonathan Pollard sold state secrets, including the National Security Agency’s ten-volume manual on how the U.S. gathers signal intelligence, and disclosed names of thousands of people who cooperated with U.S. intelligence agencies. He was arrested in 1985, and in proceedings agreed to a plea deal, plead guilty to spying for plus provided top-secret classified info to Israel. Pollard admitted shopping his stolen secrets, in some cases—to other countries. 1987, he was sentenced to life in prison for violations of the Espionage Act.
The U.S. released Pollard from prison November 20, 2015, in accordance to federal guidelines. November 20, 2020, Pollard’s parole expired, and all restrictions were removed. December 30, 2020, Pollard and his second wife fled to Israel and settled in Jerusalem.
Since fleeing to Israel, Pollard endorsed Israeli far-right minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and advocated for genocide and moving Gaza’s Palestinians to Ireland.
