This is the current oath for judges per 28 U.S. Code § 453
I, ___ ___, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as ___ under the Constitution and laws of the United States. So help me God.
The oath was amended in Public Law 101-650 of Dec 1, 1990 ( Judicial Improvements Act of 1990) in Sec. 404.
And here is the oath before the amendment (emphasis added):
“I, ___ ___, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will administer justice without respect to persons, and do equal right to the poor and to the rich, and that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all the duties incumbent upon me as ….
“”___ according to the best of my abilities and understanding, agreeably to the Constitution and laws of the United States. So help me God.””
