Thomas Kuhnle attended Stanford University, earning a B.A. in economics 1987 and a M.A. in International Economics 1988. He continued his studies at Stanford Law School, completing his J.D. in 1995.
Prior to his appointment as Judge, Thomas Kuhnle was a partner at the legal firm Bingham McCutchen where he practiced for fifteen years, specializing in business disputes and intellectual property cases.
Thomas Kuhnle was president of the Santa Clara County Bar Association.
Kuhnle’s hobbies include cycling.
